On September 10-11, 2024, the annual retreat of the TRR 259 "Aortic Diseases" took place at the beautiful Seehotel Maria Laach. The event was a great success, offering an excellent platform for scientific exchange and advancing collaborative research efforts.
We are excited to share that Philipp Barnowski has been honored with the Poster Prize at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the German Society for Matrix Biology for his poster titled “Targeting of Collagen Degradation in Marfan Mice.” The award was presented by the American Journal of Physiology - Cell Physiology in recognition of the innovative and impactful research showcased.
At the 40th Annual Conference of the German Society for Vascular Surgery and Medicine (DGG), Dr. med. Joscha Mulorz from Düsseldorf was honored with the Science Award for his exceptional research. His project, titled “E-cigarette exposure augments murine abdominal aortic aneurysm development: role of Chil1,” was recognized for its innovative approach and significant contributions to vascular health research.
At the 40th Annual Conference of the German Society for Vascular Surgery and Medicine (DGG), Prof. Dr. med. Markus Wagenhäuser from Düsseldorf was awarded the prestigious Aortic Award. His outstanding scientific work on the project titled “Crosstalk of platelets with macrophages and fibroblasts aggravates inflammation, aortic wall stiffening, and osteopontin release in abdominal aortic aneurysm” was recognized for its groundbreaking contributions to vascular medicine.
