First, all organizers introduced themselves to the participating girls. Then Prof. Katrin Paeschke told many interesting things about her life as a scientist. During a laboratory tour, the girls were able to see what such a laboratory looks like.
In an experiment, Rebecca Linke (PhD student since 2021) isolated live DNA from a banana. The girls were able to carry out the experiment at the same time at home; everything they needed was sent to them in advance.
In another experiment, the girls were also able to see where bacteria are at home. To do this, they carried out a contact test a few days earlier. Together with Prof. Katrin Paeschke, the girls evaluated where in their home there was a particularly large number of bacteria.

Girls' Future Day
At the Girls' Future Day on April 28, schoolgirls in grades 8, 9 and 10 could take part in the life of a female scientist. The Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation2 organizes exciting experiments and interesting insights into the life of a scientist together with the TRR259 and the TRR237.
