On September 26th, 2024, Prof. Dr. Dimitrios Tsiantoulas from the Medical University of Vienna joined the TRR259 community at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf for an insightful lecture and a “Meet the Expert” session with TRR259 students. He shared his latest research on the protein APRIL and its role in cardiovascular diseases, highlighting its importance in immune system functions related to heart health. The event offered students a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and gain valuable knowledge from an expert in molecular medicine.

Prof. Dr. Tsiantoulas, whose research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiovascular diseases, began with an interactive session, allowing students the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insights into his work and perspectives. The iRTG students highly appreciated this open exchange and the chance to learn from such an experienced expert in molecular medicine.

Following the session, Prof. Dr. Tsiantoulas delivered an inspiring lecture titled “Dissecting the Role of APRIL in Cardiovascular Diseases.” During his presentation, he shared his latest research findings on the role of the protein APRIL in cardiovascular diseases. 

This event provided valuable insights into cutting-edge research and offered students an in-depth look at molecular approaches to tackling cardiovascular conditions. We extend our sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Tsiantoulas for his visit and for sharing his expertise with our academic community.
